Re: Budget Update

As you are aware.
Governor Blagojevich signed HB2716 on
July 3, 2003 and used his veto pen to make some changes. The Association is
working closely with legislative staff and the Bureau of the Budget to
determine the intent of Governor Blagojevich's
veto message. It appears that DD
programs were untouched, but some MH
funding was cut. Here's what we know about the
MH cuts (Please keep in mind these cuts fall after the 4% CODB increase):
• Psychotropic Medications
were cut 1.1%
• MI CILAs were cut 1.1%
• MI Supported Housing line was reduced by $1,750,000 from the proposed
$3,500,000
This is just a preliminary
review of Governor Blagojevich's line item veto message, and you can count
on the Association to let you know when clarifications are received. If you
