Services Available: To
provide friendship, encouragement, and enriching opportunities to children
through one-to-one matches with adult volunteers. Volunteers provide
positive role models for children in needs of a special friend.

Population Served: Children
between the ages of 5 and 13.
Eligibility Criteria:
Children from the ages 5 to 13 from single parents and/or special needs
families may be referred. Children may remain actively matched up to age
18. Adult volunteers must be 18 years of age, with high school volunteers
being at least 16 years of age, and have the ability to meet a child’s
needs and have the desire to help a child.
Fees/Costs: No cost.
Hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.,
Monday-Friday, and by appointment.
Other: Programs that are
offered: Community Based program: Volunteer is matched with a child and meet 3-4
hours a week. School based Program: Volunteers are matched with a
child during school time, during the after school program, or at
designated location for one hour per week. High School: At least 16
years of age, volunteers are matched with
a child from a waiting list. Monthly agency-sponsored activities are
provided for them to attend. Big Buddy: Volunteers meet with a
child from the waiting list and attend agency-sponsored monthly
activities.
