Services Available: Twenty
school districts hold membership in the Special Education District. It is
the purpose of this district to provide special education classes for
Special Education students and to provide technical assistance for the
member district.
Geographic Area: The Four
Rivers Special Education District serves all school districts in six
counties and parts of two others. The counties are Brown, Calhoun, Cass,
Greene, Macoupin, Morgan, Pike, and Scott.
Population Served: All
special education students in the member districts.
Eligibility Criteria: For
school age children, referrals are usually made through the local school
district. A multi-disciplinary team determines eligibility for services
after thorough screenings and assessments.
Fees/Costs: None.
Hours: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
